Universities require academic freedom in order to fulfill their function, which is to inquire into the nature of things scientific, social, political, and aesthetic. As our Research One institutions give up their academic freedom, they curtail their ability to do this.

So, now we have a plutocracy and can look forward to a military junta. Trump is already preparing this move by firing generals who are principled and abide by their oath to uphold US Constitution. A military junta is further supported by military parade such as in North Korea, China, and Russia.

Too bad Trump owns the Supreme Court. They themselves hold a majority of justices on the right. The liberal justices are always overruled. I will be very surprised if this court does not trample on our Constitution in their rush to affirm Trump’s lies and approve his illegal executive orders.
