Like the turn of the millennium, I think we’re in a bubble. Money is pouring in, chasing AGI. The bots are impressive, but the ROI does not meet the hype. I think we’re going to have an AI bust that will rival the Dot-com bust.

I'd be happy with that. I'll buy again the second year they do it. Once all the bugs are worked out.

I love it. When it's not in case it feels great. My dream for a foldable would be the size of a mini so maybe we'll get that but I have feeling it'll the size of a Max.

What all in one AI desktop app are you using? I want something that works with local LLMs (Llama, Qwen, Mistral, SD, Flux, etc on my networked Linux machine) and online (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude). I want to experiment, train, and keep some chats local.

What are you using?

I reluctantly updated my iPhone Mini 12 because it’s running slow with new OS and constantly running out of memory. I thought the Air could be cool but it’s too many compromises.

iPhone 17 is a boring update but (relatively) reasonable price for features.

I’d like to think it’s because I’m a halfway decent person but just being pragmatic, when you find good people you want them to not be constantly thinking about money and whether or not one ER visit is going to bankrupt them. That does not make for productive workers.

Small biz owner here. I want my employees to have good insurance. I now cover almost all of their costs because I hated to keep telling them costs were going up. Not sure how this is my fault.

I really want to like the lightning. I actually need a full size pickup I pull an 8000lbs trailer for work about once a week. It cuts range in half. So from 270 to 135. Smaller EV batts + gas range extender like Dodge & Scout announced makes more sense. I’ll stick with my F150 hybrid for now.

It's pretty cheap to blast a million emails and SM posts and now you can have AI write it all for you. We're creating the digital Great Pacific Garbage Patch. We've got all this crap floating around making everyone's online life worse. Reach out yourself. Make human connections.

Don't feel too bad. I am a 40 year old college educated man who grew up 10 minutes from Tulsa's Black Wall Street and took Oklahoma History in high school. I too learned about it 6 years ago from a TV show.

I think personal and professional goal setting is like going to a college advisor. You start with a dream of what you want your life to be, they break it down into smaller goals, and then that drives your daily tasks and routines. blog.jaredtabb.com/2025/09/01/i...

I wonder if we could get a handful of billionaires with a conscious to only fund politicians who want to overturn citizens united, ban Congress from trading individual securities, and creating term limits.

What a legacy that would be. Use your wealth to create more justice.

While it may be a drop in the bucket, I think I’m going to make as many positive comments on your profile as I can. I find it really disheartening the vitriol sent your way. I don’t agree with everything you say but that’s ok. We need other perspectives and there’s a LOT you say and do I do agree.

What do you find using AI for the most? I've been using it mostly in personal projects but am moving in the direction of using it purely in R&D work projects. Not current customer deliverables.

It's frustrating that there are Google Gemini features in the free public version that I don't have on my paid workspace account. I can't delete conversations and I can't adjust saved info. Grrr.

Emoji's shouldn't count as new features. I already had emoji's. Now I have more.

Engineers don’t build cars. The design cars. Assembly workers and robots build cars.

Do you mess with any local models? I have an old tower with an ok GPU and play around with them. I find myself bouncing between Gemini, ChatGPT, Llama, Mistral, etc.

Why do I feel like the only difference between now and 2005 is we have smart phones and they have Ed Hardy?
