For more than two decades Adobe has been the king of photography editing software. But with their many divisive decisions in recent years, is it time to move on.

It's the land that time forgot, it's also the most inspirational place I have been to.

Read about how Havana was some 15 years ago, in our new Substack article

It is a rare experience to step into a place and feel instantly transported to another century.

Good morning from NE England, how's your weekend so far?

This is another shot from the new drone, demonstrating the tilt up capability of the gimbal - it can actually go quite a bit more. It also demos the dynamic range.

I sold two drones to buy this one, but what is it? Find out on Sunday in my latest YouTube video, channel link is in my bio.

Meanwhile here is a teaser for that video.

Good morning from NE England, ready for the weekend?
One of my complaints is about togs that massively over-saturate images for impact. This shot, however from my new drone, has had minimal saturation added. It really was that fiery

Good morning from Rusty Rita. Out flying the new drone and am suitably impressed.

It will feature in Sunday’s video, stay tuned for that

It's an odd focal length but a great lens, here's why...

One generation difference, quite a size difference to incorporate that second camera.

Hopefully trying out the new drone tomorrow

Good morning from Washington UK. Prepping two YT videos this morning, hopefully shooting on or both tomorrow. Both I think, quite interesting.

Meanwhile, I have had a little time to edit some more Beamish images. All shot at 16000 ISO

This the first time I have had toxicity on Bsky. Plenty on the other platforms. Pleased to say he was the usual demographic though, never fails

A new lens adapter for an upcoming YT video. It connects two brands, one long defunct the other at the forefront of modern digital photography. The stories of both are deeply entwined, but what are those brands?

Good morning from NE England. Tania and I took a wander around the Christmas market in Newcastle last night. The Toon is magical at this time of year, it just reaffirmed our decision to move up here.
These are just a few iPhone shots from the evening.

New drone day, but what did I get, why and what will it replace?

All to be revealed soon in an upcoming YT video - assuming the wind drops enough for me to fly it.

Good morning from Washington UK. Hope your weekend is going well.

These are a few more images taken at Beamish on Thursday. The old bus in the rain was taken at 16000 ISO as there was virtually no light there - Beamish keeps things very authentic

The constant drizzle only added to the atmosphere and made at the Beamish Museum even more atmospheric at their Christmas event last night.
Some of these images were shot at 16000 ISO and cleaned using AI noise reduction in Lightroom

It can be hard to shoot in winter, as I recently mentioned in my latest video. Shooting YouTube videos can also be tough.

This week I've hit a creative and mental wall ,so I've decided to take a one-week break.

Today, however, I've been working on future video ideas that I think you'll like.

Good morning from NE England. Tania and I are off to Beamish at Christmas this evening, should be vey photogenic.

Meanwhile this morning's image is from the banks of the Tyne at dawn

Good morning from NE England, hope you are all well.

This morning's image comes from St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. Taken in 2018, drone flights now require permission from the local heliport which reopened in 2020.

I wonder if the person that downvotes every video I publish on YT inside 24h knows that a single downvote is still positive engagement when my upvotes are massively higher. Not the flex they think it is. Also, as they don't watch the videos, that also counts against them🤣🤣

Winter can crush your motivation to shoot… but it doesn’t have to.

In my latest video, I share how to beat the winter blues and stay creative behind the camera.

Good morning from Washington (the original). Bright but chilly start here as winter officially approaches.

If like me, you are yearning for warmer days, here's an image taken at the height of summer in the southern hemisphere. It was nearly -1C at the time.

Good morning from NE England, ready for the weekend?

This image is one of my favourites from this part of the world, Seaham lighthouse.

It has lots of negative space, juxtaposition and mood from the misty sunrise. Fuji XH2 and 100-400mm

This morning's image is a 120 second blue hour exposure of rush hour on the Chain Bridge in Budapest, arguably one of the most photogenic cities in Europe.

Good morning from a sunny Washington UK. This image is pretty old, 2006 I think.
Its a lone fisherman in the Suez Canal at sunset. Some definite minimalism and negative space going on.
