Come on by the Kroger in Maumee (1435 Reynolds, just south of the Turnpike) tomorrow to donate to the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign. You can also meet some of the 13abc on-air folks you see on TV (or online) everyday.
I'll be out there from 1pm-2pm. Let's go Krogering

Just think how warm a "feels like" temperature in the mid 30s is going to feel Wednesday!

Wow! This looks like something from a movie!
This is a sun pillar. That "flame" is the setting sun with a pillar of light caused by tiny ice crystals in the sky.
Thanks to 13abc Viewer Stephanie Helmke for this beauty from near Defiance Sunday evening (12/14/25).

Brrrrrrrr! It is COLD out there this afternoon. 4pm temperatures are in the upper teens and feels like temperatures as low as zero!
Temps will jump this week close to 50, then fall quickly. Updates on 13 Action News at 4, 5, 6, 7 and 11pm.
December 15, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Frigid but pretty! You're looking at another great picture of cloud iridescence. That "rainbow" is caused by ice crystals in the cirrus clouds refracting the light. Thanks to 13abc Viewer Lori Harp for this photo from outside of Tiffin Sunday morning.

*METEOR SHOWER TONIGHT*
If you're willing to brave the cold weather, you may see quite a show in the skies tonight. It's the peak of the Geminid Meteor Shower!
Anytime after 8pm should work, look to the east (near the planet Jupiter) and you should be good to go.

Sorry, Santa!
The outlook through Christmas has really warmed up over the past few days. Much of the USA will be warmer than normal. This puts NW Ohio and SE Michigan's chance at a White Christmas at only 25%. It only takes one snow-maker though to change that...

*GULLS ON ICE*
You've heard of "Disney on Ice", now check out my version of "Gulls on Ice*! It's going to be a big hit! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll ooooh and aaaah. Just kidding...
Neat video though of some Gulls on the Maumee River Friday. Just floatin' on by!

*Head SOUTH for the heavier snow*
Even though snow totals won't be that impressive for most, be on the lookout for some blowing & drifting snow. Doesn't take much to reduce the visibility and cover the roadway with a layer of snow.
Stay safe and stay warm!

*Crepuscular Rays*
See those beams of light through the clouds? Those are crepuscular rays sneaking through the cloud deck. Sure brightens up the sky on a rather gray afternoon.
Thanks to 13abc Viewer Joni for this Friday view of the Sandusky Bay.

Do you use a humidifier to stay comfortable during the colder months?
If you don't, you're heating up air with very little moisture, that causes the relative humidity to drop to desert-like levels. You may notice more static, dry skin, frizzy hair, squeaky floors, etc.
