I don't think it's related. The scar on the bottom is from my semi truck accident in 1982 (a story for another time)...
It's only on the right leg. No pain, no itching, a few days ago it was like blood, scratches, but I've had no injury or anything to it.

It doesn't feel like anything other than a twisted ankle, which I kind of have all the time.
It looks like a rash but I feel nothing. I've walked everywhere most of my life, in all sorts of terrain and plants, even lots of poison ivy, this has never happened, not once. I haven't been wearing socks, so it wasn't that, and I haven't even been through any plants, so nope there as well.
One of these things is not like the others...

And it was never just 'Ace Frehley' for us,
It was always 'Ace Frehley, Lead Guitar'
...IYKYK
People play down that Ace ruined this, I think it's the opposite, what he did was brilliant. Gene and Paul probably wanted to come out and play up the KISS character images, and Ace wasn't having it, he had a good time with it. He was genuine, and fucking hilarious...

Damn this sucks, I just don't want to do anything right now other than listen for a bit...
And the quirkiness of him was awesome! Every guitar player was cool, we picked them all apart, but most of them were never Ace cool... loved all of it. I imagine Steve's probably as bummed as I am, he might say some of his guitar playing was inspired by Ace.
we traded some Devo and KISS records the day we met, and I think we were pretty much attached immediately in that moment. And in between every song and record by anyone we were into, Ace Frehley was one we went back to, often. It was driving music, it was gorgeous layers of guitar...
And strangely, I loved all the songs Ace wrote, better than the other members, even before I knew which ones they were. He was my guy.

And most important of all, I met my best friend Steve Wilson because of Ace Frehley...

I like long hair, guitars, loud fucking rock, all because if Ace and KISS. The spaceman image, the stumbling around when he was playing, all the goofy weirdness that he was. My oldest memories are seeing them on TV and listening to anything by them I could find.
Ace Frehley, Kiss' original lead guitarist and founding member, dies at 74
Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist and founding member of the glam rock band Kiss who captivated audiences with his elaborate makeup and smoke-filled guitar, has died.

I took a nap and suspected the hospitalized news was going to be bad, just not so soon. I have no words, you all know how much I love music, but you might not know all of it has everything to do with Ace Frehley, and this is beyond a huge bummer, for me.
