Author, reader, critic, president of Washington Independent Review of Books (which you should read and follow). I’m all about the freedom to read & learn. Moms Demand Action volunteer. Coming to grips that my “golden years” will be spent in The Opposition.
Good job, everyone. But we're still clawing our way up to soulless ghoul Stephen Miller.
Exclusive: Border Patrol “Commander at Large” Gregory Bovino has been removed from his role and is expected to retire soon, sources tell @nickmiroff.bsky.social.
Gregory Bovino Gets Demoted
The Border Patrol chief was the public face of a traveling immigration crackdown on cities governed by Democrats.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes. Come on, Democrats--you're actually able to grow a spine, take a stand, and fight back. We are demanding it.
5. Impeach Noem and Bondi.

6. End the Kavanaugh stops with racial profiling and end the militarization of ICE.

7. Codify a use of force standard so courts can enforce the law against rogue ICE agents.

8. Tear down and replace ICE with an agency that has oversight.
January 27, 2026 at 12:51 AM
Every bit of this (see all 8 of his policy points).
Congress is not powerless. Democrats must unify around an actual agenda.

1. Vote no on DHS funding bill.

2. Repeal the multi-year $75 billion funding for ICE.

3. End qualified immunity for ICE agents.

4. Investigate and prosecute every single ICE agent who broke the law.

Understand that all of this fascist nightmare is being done in the name of the American people. If you don’t agree with what they are doing, you must speak out against it. Silence is complicity. And is there a single word from anyone in this administration that we are willing to believe?

Interesting, Kash. I think your guys' own NRA would like to have a word on that.
Kash Patel: "You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It's that simple. You don't have a right to break the law." (Pretti was carrying a gun legally.)

Greg Bovino is an entire lifetime of poor choices.
Q: Between your agency and ICE, we've known seen 2 people shot and killed with 17 days. Do either of you plan to take any accountability?

BOVINO: You're correct. Two suspects have been shot. And suspects that assault or threaten a law enforcement officer's life, it goes back to poor choices.
January 25, 2026 at 9:13 PM
Hasn't tiny Nazi Greg Bovino and all the rest of this cast of miscreants ever seen the movie? Do they not understand that they are the ones whose faces melt off at the end? YOU ARE THE BAD GUYS. YOU WILL NOT TRIUMPH. And we will revel in your defeat.

Always love Elizabeth J. Moore's reviews for @wirobooks.bsky.social, this time of @vnbateman.bsky.social's latest, ECONOMICA: "Women have been integral drivers of economic prosperity since the dawn of humanity, and the lack of recognition of this fact is a gaping blind spot in history.

When folks say we’ll never end gun violence in the US, I say, You know what you never hear in a restaurant anymore? “Smoking or non-smoking?” Things are only impossible until they aren’t, because enough people work (long and hard enough) to change reality.

My review in @wirobooks.bsky.social today: happy holidays? "These two interpretations of the American idea have fought with each other — to & beyond the brink — over 250 years & 'like two drunken men,' per Abraham Lincoln, had crossed sides so often it's hard to work back to the original position."

I'm only through the introduction of @johnfugelsang.bsky.social's SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND HATE, and I'm already shouting in agreement with the author's points. When people present themselves as Christians, I always want to ask, "Are you a Jesus Christian or a Trump 'Christian'?"

Per this morning's @washingtonpost.com, if this is an accurate quote from Kristi Noem--"I will consider your asking me to resign as an endorsement of my work."--color me flabbergasted that she understands the proper use of a gerund.
