NEW YORK COMIC CON: MR FREEZE! Tough head sketch on a black glossy comic cover. Had to draw the white areas. And couldn’t even pencil first. Had to just start and hope it worked out.

SPIDER-GWEN! Sketching on the train to NYC. Wanted to try a different kind of pose. She’s just let go of the webline in the foreground and is falling gleefully above the city. I forgot an eraser, so this is all I can do!

HELLBOY! Before I head into NYC to set up for the con, there was enough time for a 9x12 head sketch I was thinking about. As with a lot of these color SFX, some of the subtitles can get washed out by the camera.

BATMAN! 9x12 color based on the B&W daily sketch posted previously. I wanted to see how the markers held in the background as a flat color with no black outline. I think it reads well.

Daily sketch: HAWKEYE! Another study for a potential larger color piece. I’ve never done Hawkeye’s more contemporary costume. And I also wanted to push the extreme pose, something I don’t do enough of.

Daily sketch: SILVER SURFER! On the road today, so only time for a really quick one. This is a little color study for maybe a larger color piece. I want to do something with some really bright colors in it like that purple.
