Our paper on mapping the canopy traits and functions of global tropical forests was published online in Nature last month but is out in print today, and it made the cover 😊

We submitted a paper to @ecography.bsky.social on the 31st of July 2024! It has been sitting with the Editor for months on 'Pending decision' ... several emails but nothing happens! What should we do when we are in this situation? this is a paper from a PhD student who just finished her PhD...

Are tropical #forests keeping up with climate change? Not quite, it turns out.
In study led by @jeaggu.bsky.social in @science.org, we used a massive plot dataset from across Americas to check whether tree characteristics are tracking #climatechange. They hardly do.

Tropical forests are not changing fast enough to keep pace with climate change. New paper in Science today by @jeaggu.bsky.social shows that <22% of new trees recruiting into forests have traits better adapted to the new climate.
