Try a white flesh nectarine - game changer

If you haven’t seen them (and if you can get hold of them over there) then I thoroughly recommend the BBC tv adaptations of these books.

You can use the data behind this chart of the population distribution by age to estimate it - basically all the bars in the middle will get proportionately longer and the ones at the top will get shorter

I’ll attempt to translate:

“I needed to pop to the shops at lunchtime. I didn’t want to lose my parking spot outside where I work so I grabbed a lift with a woman from work who had a drs appt near the shop I needed to go to”

Or at least I think that’s what they meant

It goes on and on and on and on…

What’s your favourite Beatles album?

It always makes me wonder why we’ve ended up with such a small, yet eclectic, list of things you can be a monger of - war, iron, cheese - why these particular things?

If you don’t already, you need to follow @lynneguist.bsky.social who keeps a track of all the British English words that the Spelling Bee doesn’t allow - it’s one of the great small pleasures in life when I discover a new one for the list! separatedbyacommonlanguage.blogspot.com/2023/04/nyt-...

No need to apologise. How about FRIT today?

I’ve had problems these past couple of weeks with the ESPN app being slow and even crashing on me so I have listened to you and Sara and have downloaded the Yahoo app and will give it a go!

It is my favourite sitcom ever. No other Partridge content has ever matched it

The thing is that bands don’t make any money from releasing records anymore. Back in the day, bands would use tours as a loss leader to promote albums and so tickets were cheap. In this age of streaming, bands can only make money by touring so unless the streaming model ends, prices won’t come down

I think it varies enormously by different sports. Of the 2 that I’m most interested in, NFL on Bluesky is actually pretty good now but cricket, on the other hand, is almost non-existent on here.

Lurk on here for any length of time and you see a lot of insane shit posted

Or the crucifixion scene in The Life of Brian

Oh let me be clear I think “my wife” is fine and that’s how I refer to my wife, but there’s nowt so strange as folk, particularly Bluesky folk, so I wondered if people might take exception to the implication that a wife “belongs” to them? I’m probably over thinking it…
jeffgrim.bsky.social
They wrote “my wife” not “the wife” so not sure how the Fesshole police will deem this klaxon worthy (no idea if “my wife” is better or worse than “the wife”)

I have the 2 issue Tarzan limited series that he did the covers for. Also loved his NFL posters.

Does Magna Carta mean nothing to them? Did she die in vain?

That’s the type of situation where Washington went for it last season (and almost always got it)

Never stand on police dogs. Never stand on any dogs come to think of it. That’s just mean.

Adjacent to that, in the UK in those pre-VCR days of the late 70s/early 80s, if you missed the cinema release then you had to wait 5(!) years before movies were allowed to be shown on TV - I missed E.T. in the cinema and so imagine how excited I saw when it was finally shown on TV!!
