Thank you to West Hollywood for the honor and privilege of serving 2 years of poet laureate duties. Cupcakes and sweets were served at the end of poetry class at the WeHo Library today to help celebrate the marking of time. 🧁🧁
Highly self-conscious in the efforts of performative media

Well, this is a good reason to deal with jet lag. #nationalbookfestival #booksky
Found this photo of me a few years ago volunteering at a fruit pick where we donate the harvest to food banks and community kitchens. I don’t always remember to document the stuff I do, but it’s nice to have some photos for when life feels like a blur. #volunteer
Excited that I learned to how to do Kintsugi today.

Inspiration from Leonard Cohen:
“There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in”
Very honored to be in good company among 23 Poet Laureate fellows. #gratitude
Two writing classes available…one on zoom and the other in LA Chinatown as part of a launch party with the Anthology from Colossus Press.
Beverly Hills, Route 66. Here through Aug 1.
There is that regular 21-day loan. The 7-day loan is an incentive on popular books to jump the line of a very long waitlist.
That feels like such an “Asian thing to do” but why have it on the floor??? My mom would buy live lobster to have us kids guard them in the bathtub until they were enlisted for the special occasion dinner.
Feel ya! The instant tea kettle boiler is so helpful to me. It speeds up boiling water to making soup and rice and anything else that requires cooking with water. Now, I’ve taken to growing leafy greens so I don’t let waste buying greens but I have a new project to do —keeping them alive!! 🤦🏻‍♀️
#booksky Anyone else get stressed out by the 7-day loan on Libby? I’m glad I read CARRIE SOTO IS BACK, but I’m staying away from the 7-day hurry up and read pressure, at least for a while.
Excited for my #sapphic #literary gifts. Check out Headmistress Press for their fun trading cards (and books!) and Sinister Wisdom for their books. Who is going to NYC for the conference hosted by Sinister Wisdom? Please DM me.
Loved reading it. 💗💗💗
Excited about my book haul supporting Book Soup’s 50th Birthday Party (my neighborhood indie bookshop) @booksoupofficial.bsky.social, a chance to read queer stories and discover new authors! I’ve been waiting to read the highly anticipated book by @tinhouse.bsky.social workshop faculty Mac Crane.
If you have time this Sunday, listen in online with Sandy Yannone’s Poetry Pride Parade 12pm-2pm Pacific. And LA friends, save the date for the next Palabras Literary Salon on Sunday July 20, 2-3:30pm. Events are updated regularly on linktr.ee/jencvoice
Special thanks to @linalecaro.bsky.social for honoring me.
