OUR son, GT.
But yes, I second the motion. So proud of Harrison and the excellent journalism he’s doing at our ABC.
Regional journalism matters.
Big congratulations to my talented young bloke, ABC’s Harrison Tippet, named 2025 Journalist of the Year by Australia’s National Rural Press Club.
Also co-winner with Bec Symons for Best News Story.
The judges noted H’s dexterity, sensitivity and unique analysis.

Full credit to Fremantle today, a fantastic win for them in really tough circumstances and fully deserve their finals spot as a result, but by jeez the Western Bulldogs have played some dumb footy, and been incredibly fumbly. Inexplicable really, given the stakes. #AFLDogsFreo

What a great morning in the chilly confines of the old Melbourne City Watchouse — tastes from 16 north and northeastern Victorian wineries.
And I didn’t have to bail him out this time.
Another Saturday morning in the City Watchhouse, Russell Street Melbourne. But this time it’s wine tastings for NxNE, wineries from Victoria’s north and north-east.
There’s even snacks from Scott Pickett. Better than gruel.

A perfect addition to a relaxed Saturday afternoon.

Walking the beachfront at Alghero, Sardinia, today with one eye on the ‘Dogs ripping the Acronyms a new one. Great win with terrific performances from some of the “lesser lights” — Buku, Harmes and Freijah.

And PS: never forget that in 1939 our fathers and grandfathers went to war to kill fascists and Nazis like that shouting, sieg-heiling piece of shit.

Waking up in Sardinia to read about the Nazis disrupting the Dawn Service and Dutton’s “condemnation”. Lest we forget this hypocrite boycotted the Apology; led the hateful No campaign; refuses to stand in front of the Aboriginal Flag; and whose party wants to end Welcome To Country. He owns this.

The next day, Xitter goes offline and Musk blames Ukraine. Personally I’d be looking hard at “small man.” Seriously, he’s gods own idjit. Tanked Twitter, his rockets blow up, Tesla stock tanking and Starlink about to lose many nations’ business.
Drunk on power and ketamine. This is Musk and the foreign minister of Poland. This is what I mean about Musk as the "over-mighty subject". His power is too great for anyone else to be fully free.

I hope RoCo is right, but I’m not confident.
Just got to hang tough till injured players come back. Started poorly last season but finished No.1 for defence and No.2 for attack. That's significant I reckon.

Watched George Miller’s Furiosa again last night — and was intrigued & delighted to finally switch on that he’d named a character Rizzdale Pell.
He was an awful prick, like his rockspider inspirations.
Pick that up @milliganreports.bsky.social ?

Listening to this great album reminded me I hadn’t caught up with Willy Vlautin’s latest book, The Horse.
I have now and just ate it up. It’s up there with his best, a musing on the perils and pleasures of the musician’s life and a heartbreaker.

Hmmm. Thank you for that dear.
Imagine my surprise today that after nearly 50 years with me and my appalling mouth, my darling wife had to ask me what bellend meant!
A fool, I explained — or more precisely, given its penile derivation, a knob.
A tool, but not the whole thing.
Maybe dickhead would substitute.
Hope that helps, Elon

Rack another one up for good taste. After my raving at the weekend about @emmaswiftsings.bsky.social and Blonde On The Tracks, a mate has just gone out and bought one.

If you haven’t already done so, be like Neil folks and do yourselves a favour.

Wine merchant, wine importer, author and CIA spy, Peter Sichel, has died, aged 102. He enjoyed an incredible life which he captured so evocatively in his 2016 autobiography, The Secrets of My Life. It needed clearance from the CIA before it could be published. RIP

Wine nerds alert: you simply have to love the information on the back label of Parker Estate wines. This is how you do it! Love the labels and the wines reflect the same degree of detail.

Haven’t bought it in years.
Do you still buy tassie salmon? Besides all 3 companies being foriegn owned, only creating 130 jobs, paying a tiny tiny amount of tax ,getting millions in subsidies from ausgov, the profits going offshore, the fact it's going to render the Maugean Skate extinct?
Members of the public found chunks of dead fish and greasy balls of fish fat washed up at Verona Sands in Huon Valley and spotted workers from Huon Aquaculture cleaning the beach, later confirmed by the company.

The state’s EPA tested the substances & confirmed their origin was salmon.
