Proud to have protested with over 7 million Americans yesterday! Now it's time to check voter registrations, giving/helping out with local races and getting our house in order for a national general strike.
If the UK can come out en masse to protest, so can we! And if you can’t, please donate to food banks or domestic violence shelters. Our neighbors need our help. #alamedaca
I'd like to sponsor a Why I Vote campaign for young photographers between the ages of 18-25. Any Alameda photographers want to help plan, get out the word and sponsor prizes? Let me know if you do!

Over the course of 10 years of being a portrait photographer, I've seen women between the ages of 30-60 disappear from social media. For them and the next generations, it's important to show how beautiful women can be in all phases and stages.
Woke up running to grab my kiddo this AM. I don't mind the small shake but this one at 4.3 definitely felt stronger. Time to make sure everything is up to date in the earthquake kit.

Simple and brilliant.

Compared to traditional wooden fences, these solar fences are proving to be more cost-effective over time"

Being a multi-decade @adobe.com Lightroom user two things that would vastly improve workflow as a portrait photographer include: ability to auto-batch/crop subjects to center or off-center a subject and better remove flyways (even with AI, it's still not effect). What's something you'd improve?
Excellent podcast about AI & three takeaways: critical thinking is/will be important in the future, don't give AI your personal data (name, location, company data), and remember that it uses our natural resources so stop ChatGPT every GD thing.

Mark your calendar for October 18th @ noon! Let's come together and protest while we still can.
Over five million people protested against Trump’s regime on No Kings Day — and the sequel is going to be even bigger.

I can't doom scroll anymore so I've just signed up to fill out postcards for prop 50 and registered for my first basic CERT (community emergency response team) training. If you're in the East Bay and want info to sign up too, let me know.
Oh, TFG, the Great British Baking Show is back on.
Trip to SFMOMA to see my favorite piece by surrealist painter and poet, Dorothea Tanning and a favorite view from the museum.
Seeing a portrait you made on a book cover will never get old! Jósa Goodlife and her new book Elemental Rebirth. Photographed amongst the redwoods in beautiful, #Oakland.
Finally!

I think about this every time I drop my child at school. We don't have to live this way.
I can't stop thinking about this photo.

How dare Republicans call themselves “pro-life” when this is what their policies do.
Thanks for this great resource. I have a meeting scheduled with some folks from my community and this is so helpful. 🙏🏻
A sitting US Senator was only moderately successful at having an AI fake vid of her removed from social media. This does not bode well for the rest of us.

Me too! I also hope that people get on board with boycotts, protesting in-person and all pulling the same direction.
Dina Litovsky’s images are incredible and I’ve been a big fan since seeing her in NYTimes Mag a few years back. The way she approaches her subjects and her process is interesting and done mostly in camera. l also like that she’s not a gatekeeper.
