I've noticed a change over the past few weeks in the posts i'm seeing on linkedin. software people, even AI software people, are falling off the hype train. mocking new products and complaining about the grind culture. the vibe is uncomfortable, grinning teeth sarcasm that confuses commenters.

gross content aside, if you are a startup or small developer, you cannot allow arbitrary database connections from the public internet. this is extremely low hanging fruit for both security researchers and attackers, and someone from one of those groups will pop you fast.

universal gambling society is just a side effect of what they actually care about, which is a constant flow of data about what people believe about the near future. not just the public price data, but what they know about the users/groups placing bets.

this is how true crime shows work. everything is a cliffhanger for a red herring. it's a format for low-brow entertainment, not reporting.
the last Lizza post ended on a cliffhanger where Lizza teased a recording of Trump talking about the assassination attempt that would potentially "shatter our understanding of recent history." in the latest drop he reveals that he doesn't know what the recording was and also it has been destroyed.
