This is very cool, it is neat the solutions countries come up with when they have mature strategic direction around for a developing alternative technologies
Sand batteries are literally just silos of sand that retain heat exceptionally well -- so well that they can be tied to heat exchange systems to serve as proxy *electrical* batteries. Finland's new model can store enough power (100 MWh) to heat an entire town for a week.

I saw news on the PACER breach few weeks back... this is particularly egregious, yet also unsurprising:

"... in the recent attack, hackers exploited software vulnerabilities that remained unaddressed after being discovered five years ago in response to that first incident.
The First Federal Cybersecurity Disaster of Trump 2.0 Has Arrived
The breach of the US Courts records system came to light more than a month after the attack was discovered. Details about what was exposed—and who’s responsible—remain unclear.

The Common Vulnerability and Exposures program (CVE) gave the infosec industry a standardized way to quantify impact and prioritize cyber vulnerabilities for the last 20ish years. We will be grappling with the impact for a while. Hope a more mature and long-term vision country (EU) can take this on.

During COVID-19, we worked on ad campaigns with @doh.wa.gov. There were ads that used a phrase that still holds up today.

It’s OK not to be OK.

Remember to take some time for yourself these days.

This is so stupid, talk about straining at gnats to try and impress people. This is probably a few million for this whole list - it is hardly a rounding error in the entire scope of the federal budget….

This is a dangerous precedent. This country has determined adversaries who are bent on compromising our critical infrastructure. CISA's eroding capabilities leave businesses on their own, trying to coordinate across industry sectors and giving our adversaries a hand.

Agreed, if the mainstream media is just going to be a propo box for dear leader, there is no point in supporting it (no money, no follows, no clicks) Put your money toward local news (preferably independent) and investigative groups like ProPublica and Mother Jones
