🧵FYI. In case people who don’t know Helen Rodel. She is not a crochet pattern designer. She is a fashion designer specialised in crochet. She sells her work and they are expensive as you would imagine. So I deconstructed her work and made it. Having crochet skill helps. 😃

I do not have pink so I chose a lilac colour. 😃
Do you know Helen Rodel, a Brazilian designer? I adore her work so I decided to make one for my beach holiday about 6-7 years ago.
This is closest I could get. (I think the one I saw was a dress but I made it as a top. 🧶

A lilac colour lace crochet sleeveless top: Leaf motifs are around the neck and the belly, and flower petals are on the bust. The top is figure hugging and the length reaches upper hip.

I don’t do test knit thingy like other designers. I do occasionally have a couple of test knitters (generally my friends) to collect some valuable opinions.

No I haven’t. I meant to publish it two years ago but a lot happened unexpectedly that year so I couldn’t do it. It’s been on my list very long time. One of my craft friends bought yarn and everything to test knit and is still waiting. 🙈

As soon as moved to Ireland, I designed and knitted a cable Aran jumper.
This is a remake of it. I needed a cropped version. In a chilly but not so cold morning, this is perfect outfit working dogs. Behind, the cable blanket bedspread I made. 🧶 #knitsky

I used to be a researcher in a university. But that was a long time ago. Now I write columns and pick foreign books for publishers in Korea.

Of course I will. If I find a cool book on knitting history, I’ll let you know. And on allowances, I cheat too. 😝 I just try to keep myself in check. Otherwise, I’ll have nothing else but books. (& yarn of course)

OMG you are the second person mentioned the book to me in a week. - Not Robert Graves’s book. A knitting book with history. 👍 It’s sitting in my cart now.

Reading is a big part of my job. So I won’t count that part. For fun, I read everything except self-help books. I read Aeon magazine to learn something. These days, I’m very interested in “History of knitting”. At the moment, I’m in the stage of collecting resources hoping one day I can dig in. 😁
