I maintain that attempting to censor any of all that never ends well for anyone.

When a government gets involved to censor debate (whatever the justification) they immediately take the position of whatever side bribes them the hardest (i.e. wherever their collective interests lay politically)

Really good point. Ok, take the Palestine vs Israel debate. Something of which I have zero interest and no position on.

There are people screaming on both sides of that argument that this side did X and this side did Y.

Plenty of that dialogue has been laced with falsehoods. Who do you censor?

Yet, we have laws specifically that deal with that exact thing, and those laws did absolutely nothing to prevent it.

Southport is a much broader issue, a powder keg brought about by a growing cohort that is in part, fed up with the lack of social cohesion in the UK and a government doing zero.
