Just heard that Joe Ely died. He first came on my musical radar when The Clash had him open some dates for them. One of the best Texas songwriters ever, and that’s a saying a lot.

Slow roasted pork shoulder after 6 1/2 hours in the oven, and on a plate with potato stacks and niblets.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t pleased with how juicy and tender it came out.
