Swedish soldiers and radar systems with anti-drone capabilities contributed to the successful execution of the EU summit in Copenhagen as planned in early October. On site, the unit was led by the Danish Armed Forces.

The Chief of Joint Operations and the Minister of Defence are visiting Swedish soldiers and officers in Somalia. They are doing highly appreciated job, often under very difficult conditions, supporting the development of the Somali security forces who are fighting against Al-Shabaab and ISIS.

Supreme Commander Michael Claesson awarded Lena Persson Herlitz a medal for her UN NNSC service in South Korea. At the ceremony, supported by Ewa Skoog Haslum, Persson Herlitz honored Haslum with a rare NNSC coin - an exclusive gesture previously reserved only for the Supreme Commander.

Alexander Sollfrank, Chief of Joint Forces Command at the German Armed Forces, recently visited Gotland and P18. The purpose of the visit was to gain an understanding of the security situation in the Baltic Sea, Gotland’s strategic importance to Sweden and NATO, and to meet with conscripts.

Operation Gotland Sentry means that Sweden and Poland are conducting a joint operation in which coastal missile systems are being moved from Poland and the Swedish mainland to Gotland, in order to rapidly establish a comprehensive defense of the island, both at sea and on land.

The Chief of Joint Operations has visited the Swedish Embassy in Berlin and, among other things, gave a presentation to the defense attachés of the NATO countries. The theme of the day was Sweden as a NATO member. The day ended with a roundtable discussion with the German defense industry.

Johan Axelsson, Deputy Chief of Joint Operations, recently visited Vilnius and studied the Baltic defense line. The delegation also visited the Rudninkai training area in southern Lithuania. Physical barriers, as well as a new garrison and training facility, are currently under construction there.

Mattias Svedin has finished his job as head of the Swedish Armed Forces Logistics. He is starting a new position as head of J4 at Joint Forces Command Sweden. The new head will be Nils Johansson. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Joint Operations and CSEL at Joint Forces Command Sweden.

The Chief of Joint Operations has completed recurring skills training, which includes, among other things, medical service and pistol shooting. Even for senior commanders, it is important to maintain both competence and field readiness.

The Chief of Joint Operations has visited the Swedish Air Force unit stationed at the Polish air base in Malbork. The unit contributes to the protection of a logistics hub in southeastern Poland, which is used for both military and civilian support to Ukraine.

Under the command of JFCBS, a detachment of the Allied Reaction Force (ARF) has deployed to Gotland Island, for Vigilance Activity BRILLIANT LIGHTHOUSE.
The operation is currently in its planning phase, with Nato and Swedish Armed Forces working together to identify rapid deployment options.

The Deputy Commander of NATO's Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Vice Admiral James Morley, has visited the Chief of Joint Operations. The purpose was to gain an understanding of the current work situation regarding the transition to the operational headquarters in Norfolk next year.

After two months under NATO command, the minesweeper HMS Kullen has now returned to its home port, Berga. The vessel has been part of NATO’s standing mine countermeasures force, Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1).

After six months of service as part of NATO's enhanced forward presence in the Baltics, the 71st Battalion is now back on Swedish soil. Together with the national support unit, they were awarded medals last Friday at Revingehed for their efforts in Latvia.

Last week, Joint Forces Command Sweden held its annual operational tabletop exercise. Participants included representatives from the Armed Forces Headquarters, the military branches, military regions, units, and various defense agencies.

Swedish naval officer Nina Vinde is currently serving aboard the British anti-aircraft destroyer HMS Dauntless. The ship is part of the British-led operation Highmast. Nina's job on board is in an Air and Missile Defence Commander cell, and her task involves keeping an eye on the adversary.

On May 29th all our veterans who have worked for peace in various crisis areas around the world were honored. Around 4,000 visitors, waving flags and beautiful weather framed this year's Veterans Day.

Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum, Head of Joint Operations at the The Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters, has visited the Swedish battalion in Latvia. Among other things, she followed soldiers practicing clearing trenches and had a meeting with the battalion commander about the situation on site.

Brigadier General Johan Axelsson has now started his job as Deputy Chief of Joint Operations at the Swedish Armed Forces. At a ceremony at the Headquarters on May 5th, he was also promoted to Major General by Michael Claesson, Supreme Commander, and Chief of Joint Operations, Ewa Skoog Haslum.

Major General Fredrik Stålberg is now the new head of the Swedish Delegation at NNSC. Today five Swedish officers and five Swiss officers are stationed south of the Demarcation Line in Panmunjeom. The main duty of the NNSC is to monitor the armistice agreement signed in 1953.

Yesterday, the Chief of Joint Operations, Ewa Skoog Haslum, and her Finnish counterpart, Kari Nisula, signed the implementation plan for the deepened Finnish-Swedish cooperation. Another step to enable both countries to conduct a coordinated armed battle together in the event of a hostile attack.
