I took first place in Royal City Literary Arts Society's writing contest for my story "The Homewrecker".

Sounds idyllic, but revising a book takes a ton of mental energy and it can be exhausting.

(BTW, not my bathtub but that's me in it. One of my retreat locations)

I began my writing career in a tree.... literally. When I visited my great-grandmother's farm, I would climb up into a tree in her yard (I think it was a big old oak), curl up in its bough, and write poetry.

Morning bliss - with Charlotte 🕷️ - our current spider resident.

Coffee on the deck in the morning is the best way to begin my #writing day. I think about the words with the soundtrack of birds. The fresh air of a new season kisses my skin. I sit with the sunflowers and breathe in gratitude ❤️
