Oh this perfectly captures my feelings on the game. DQ1 felt like a revelatory alternative vision on what JRPGs could be and DQ2 felt like a classic JRPG. Which, sure, I do really love, but the taste of DQ1 still lingered in my mouth

just finished destiny and tbh i just think the explanation is just that the writers didn't have enough ideas to sustain two 50 ep seasons, and so started reusing/restating plot beats. this also explains why destiny half way thru gives up on being a sequel and just remakes seed

Victory def has its own unique energy. I adore it, flaws and all, because there's really not that many shows that feel like a panic attack. I do also recommend Space Runaway Ideon, which Victory is kinda directly in conversation with. Ideon rules also and is worth watching on its own merits
