Will that stop Trump from trying? No. But we shouldn't give in to fear. Trump will fail. His health will give out some day and the party will likely fight amongst itself for power. Even if that doesn't happen, good men and women are fighting back. We must be prepared to join and support them.

Gonna amend this opinion a bit.

Trump also needs people not to fight back. It is impossible to guarantee through fear and coercion that even the generals he selects will be 100% loyal. Hitler had top generals turn on him.

We're already there. The only reason he hasn't done more is because he knows he does not have the full backing of the military. After that shit show at the Pentagon, he likely lost most of the generals he could count on and now has to settle for less qualified replacements.

When I was in high-school I was asked if I could shoot a guy that threatened my family. I didn't have an answer then. Now I do. If I know someone will 100% hurt my family I will choose literally anyone else on the faith that anything else is better. Because what is the worst case? My family is hurt?
