In one way I WAS affected by altitude. Milk chai available at base camp ‘cafe’. So good I had 3 cups. Altitude affects boiling temp. Result? Food poisoning. 🤮‘Toilet’ was metres away over slippery ice. Made that trip many times in the night!! Had to unwrap myriad layers of clothes/bedding to do so.

Base camp on Tibet side is at 5200 m. 3 days jeep trip from Llasa. No trek involved!

Ramshackle base camp of Everest (Qomolangma). The mountain white against blue sky.

Lots of layers of warm clothing did not prevent the bitterly cold stinging wind. It was hard to stand virtually. Road to Base Camp.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Waseem. Waseem was married just a few days before the war began and him and his family (some with injuries) have been displaced repeatedly. He hadn’t made a fundraiser before but now in two months his first child Nabil is going to be born❤️
