Going to check out Prince’s later, any other recommendations?
I have never watched the Super Bowl and I think I’ve only seen three half time shows (Justin/Janet, Kendrick, and Bad Bunny) so I have little to compare but that was awesome. Watched it this morning on YouTube over coffee.

Excellent, I’m happy to watch it on recommendation! I was surprised i hadn’t seen it but I was definitely abroad that year

As I have now reached middle age (and pay for the BBC license) I’m considering reentering the world of television ownership.
February 9, 2026 at 5:20 PM
Lest any of this sound farfetched, I haven’t owned a TV in 16 years and didn’t for a few years before that plus I’ve spent 15 years and likely more Superb Owl Sundays outside the US.

I have been to or two Super Bowl parties but I have no memory of the game or the halftime show. Might’ve been in my stoner days.

Job offer!!
I’m helping a PBS series look for a social media manager/content creator for an upcoming promotional campaign. The start date is ASAP, and a project timeline that currently goes to July.

This is for a series on American Muslim history, so candidates with cultural familiarity preferred!

I don't have a lot of contact with people who don't watch or read the news, I guess.

Gotcha. Yeah, he's been terrible pretty much forever. There's plenty of other evidence of that.
February 6, 2026 at 1:22 PM
Ok. I'm not sure what point you were even trying to make with your original post though. Just because people hadn't heard of him in 2012 doesn't make his dealings with Epstein any less relevant or disgusting.

he's been photographed with Farage, he's being investigated by Ofcom...these are all top-level news stories.

but that's also true of people in the US and anywhere else. People who know who Elon Musk are are people who read political and/or tech news. His role in politics (not just in the US, but also the UK) has him in regular media and tabloid headlines these days.
