Pitt now sits with a 4-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the ACC. The Panthers will look to make it three in a row when they travel to Syracuse next week for a 7:30 Saturday night kickoff against the Orange in the Dome.

With today’s 34-31 win over No. 25 Florida State, Pitt picks up its first road win over a top 25 opponent since November 2, 2018, a 23-13 upset over then No. 25 Virginia. This is also the Panthers’ first win over a ranked opponent overall since 10/14/23 (No. 14 Louisville).

Pitt improves to 7-5 all-time against Florida State. The Panthers now own a 4-2 record in Tallahassee and have won both meetings against the ‘Noles in Doak Campbell Stadium since joining the ACC.

With today’s 34-31 win over No. 25 Florida State, Mason Heintschel becomes the first true freshman quarterback to engineer a top-25 upset for Pitt since Kenny Pickett led a 24-14 win over No. 2 Miami in 2017.
