I think that’s reasonable if editing is minimal. My sister is my business partner and she’s a photographer. She spends so much time editing. People don’t realize. They think it’s just the shoot then done.

I’ve had super rich society lady clients and they are a fucking nightmare. I actually really like my nonprofit and retail clients the most. It’s all word of mouth and referral. I’ve gotten a ton of great referrals from friends actually. Post your work so they can see.

I know. I’ve been a contractor for more than 30 years. It’s so hard to get excellent clients. They exist, but few and far between. Somehow, I mostly have always made my bills and survived. It’s worth a lot to me to work for myself, but it’s a struggle.

Yay! Good news! If you don’t value your work, no one else will. This was a hard won lesson for me as a graphic designer. We deserve to survive off our work.

Everyone outside the US has been through this, but for us it’s the first time. Admittedly it’s taken us a long time to get anything together, but we’ve been betrayed by our leaders, the media, and the Supreme Court - in essence anyone that could help us.
We are trying despite all these challenges.
