@3dmoleculardesigns.bsky.social SMART models have been delivered and they are absolutely stunning!! Each model was designed by my students and then custom printed for each team to help tell their molecular story!

Today in Field Ecology I had kids climbing trees to lick them! We were doing a tree ID lesson and they learned that maple sap tastes like syrup!

It is SO fun to see juniors and seniors in high school excitedly competing to lick trees! 😂

Each week students in my Field Ecology do Sit Spot, in the middle of a page of observations a student wrote:

“My ass is cold”

I challenged the student to reflect on how physical discomfort affects our observations. Building empathy and perseverance takes time and often starts with a cold ass!

I want to live in precedented times.

Living in continual unprecedented times is exhausting.

Teachers: please stop giving students study guides for assessments that remove any need for ownership or accountability of learning on the student’s behalf.

I am tired of getting asked for study guides by students and parents.

How do you use play in your teaching practice? What does play look like?

“How would human evolution have been affected if we didn’t have the ice age?”

I love when students ask questions that make me think! This one has a lot to unpack!
