I feel your pain. But that is not the only reason to be a soil scientist. Look to a field in research to help solve existing problems. I spent a career trying to advance our understanding in the impact of ag water use. SSURGO is not the knowall of soils. Like any mapping, it is an approximation.

I've often wondered about that insufferable limit. I am sure it is not the same for everyone but maybe the same neighborhood. Perhaps we have found that limit.

The world is full of people like that. The gear doesn't matter either...or make a photo better. I guarrentee, I can screw up a photo whether is was taken with a phone, DSLR, 35mm, 120mm or 4x5. You're doing fine.
