Interested in 3D scanning and Gaussian splats. Personal hobbies are snowboarding, guitars, yoga. Will show off my labradoodle Rocco!

Thanks! I’m just surprised he finds that chair comfy.

Captured Rocco in 3D using an iPhone. Aligned on device in 5 seconds and processed through Brush - the most accessible way to create 3D splats!

Alignment can use some work, but Brush did a great job on the fur.

Great work @arthurperpixel.bsky.social !

Images capture and aligned on an iPhone 14 Pro, and processed using Brush github.com/ArthurBrusse...

Only processed to 10k iterations. I need a faster computer :)

Would be awesome.

My biggest gripe is the difficulty in trying to get a model to run on the neural engine.

Thanks for sharing. I’m always explaining how Gaussian splats look, now I can just show people this.

btw - this is what a photogrammetry project looks like

you have a whole bunch of photos (in this case 1180 images from a DSLR and a drone) where you compare high contrast features against one another to find shared tie points, which make up the point cloud that you see

next, for meshing

Seems plausible to me. 16 core gpu vs 10 makes up for any efficiency gains brought by the new architecture. Also, not sure how much of the models being tested are run on the GPU vs neural engine. Apple is somewhat cagey on how to fully utilize the neural processor.

Spending the week out in Steamboat Springs snowboarding with friends.

Gorgeous weather and we got some good tracks. Wishing for more snow this weekend.

It actually wasn’t that bad. It was like you’re wading in a pool watching a light show.

Visiting Guam to see my dad. I always forget how stunning it can be. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was lucky to have grown up here.
