What is it to suffer …

#poetry #grief
stung by unattainable desire
wait to cross treacherous waters
into the storms of passion

twisted as growl of feline warn
such signal determines flight
strain against resistance

"I'm only happy when it rains..." [Song by Garbage]
What do you do when the world is on fire? Let art "reign"! (Rain, art palette, and spark emojis.)

Happy Autumn Equinox!

A time for gratitude, letting go, introspection, spiritual connection, and acknowledging nature's cycles. May you find peace and balance in this new season <3

Check out my friend Christina Looney’s art. Beautiful watercolor nature scenes. And if you feel so inclined I’d recommend buying one for yourself, and help an emerging artist fulfill her dreams

Cusp…

#poetry #writingcommunity #grief
On the cusp of opposing signs
silence fiery battles with waring cry
water flowing, earth grounding, sky
slipping, falling, landing, lie

Leave your mark…

I went to Atlanta, GA and found a place that welcomes graffiti. A space offered where anyone can participate, and mark walls with splashes of vibrant colors filled with meaning and emotion. A reminder to make your own creative mark in this life.

soulless eyes…

#poetry #grief #hope
May water cleanse the earth
and fire purify the sky
masked malevolence in eclipse
the blood moon shall rise

I went to the MAM with my brother. We found a Picasso hung out of the way. “I can’t believe I saw a Picasso” he said. Suddenly the magnitude of what we were seeing hit. For we stood where he did so long ago. He with a paintbrush; us viewing his creation. A reminder to be "present".

Chaos of Loss…

#grief #poetry #writingcommunity
I am empty, but not alone
scared of this place
where I take up space
cold, gasping… I am (not) suffering…

"Unofficial end of summer"

Soak up the sun
Dance in the rain
Find some joy
In the little things

Happy Labor Day!!

Price of grief… the proof of love

“Down hallowed halls
filled with the left and loss
The mourning gather
still voice sings soft

Beneath polished pews
behind dim glass stained
Reverence echoes…
and the rain never came”

Smart. I know a few authors who like to work on more than 1 project at a time for this reason 🙂

by doing good deeds and
spreading kindness to
everyone today

struggling to keep

the sunken wreckage turns to rust with
the dissent of all undermined”
