More beneficial rain for us. Hurricane Melissa is still a major hurricane- category 3 with 115 mph winds this morning (down from 185 yesterday!) moving over eastern Cuba. The higher terrain there should cause it to weaken further. #FOXLocal @fox5atlanta.bsky.social

TUESDAY 5AM HURRICANE #MELISSA UPDATE:
Maintaining 175 mph max winds as an extremely powerful category 5 hurricane. Conditions are deteriorating in Jamaica and will continue to before the official landfall (the eye moving onshore) happens later today.

#Melissa is now a CATEGORY 5 hurricane as of 5am Monday and moving slowly. Catastrophic flooding, storm surge, and destructive winds will batter Jamaica today and tonight. Up to 30" of rain possible there, leading to numerous landslides. Updates on #FOXLocal and @GoodDayAtlanta
