And yet the hardest thing we can do is to remain hopeful.
I lived in Memphis for 30 years and still call it my second home. It is a big blue dot in an otherwise red state. The National Guard won’t solve Memphis’s problems, but funds for food, housing, jobs and education might.
I couldn’t resist jumping in to a wedding portrait session outside St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague Castle today. #travel #prague #myvikingjourney
Our first full day in Krakow — at Ghetto Heroes Square, Wawel Castle, St. Mary’s Church and pierogis at Przypiecek. We’re so grateful to be on this @vikingcruises.bsky.social journey.
Sunday mass at Jasna Góra monastery in Poland. #travel #myvikingjourney #poland
Our hotel in Warsaw has a tea bar, where you fill your own teabag with loose-leaf tea and brew your own pot. Best. Idea. Ever. #myvikingjourney #travel
First breakfast at the Warsaw Sofitel Victoria: Omelets, Polish dumplings, pastries, and a make-your-own-teabag station with quality loose leaf tea. I could get used to this. #travel #poland #myvikingjourney
My husband and I split our time between Sacramento and Memphis. We don’t plan to give our money to In-N-Out in either location. We’ve learned to vote with our dollars, supporting local businesses that give back to their communities.

Dennis and I jumpstarted our vacation with a delish vegetarian dinner at Magpie Cafe. We began with house-made chips and crusty bread with hummus, then split veggie lasagna (Root 64 tomatoes!) and corn tortellini. We topped it off with a (Gunther's) ice cream sandwich. Way to go Sacramento!
And they’re trying to edit history to conform with their fantasies. These men are racist, sexist bullies who believe they are above the law. I only hope I live long enough to see them held accountable for the crimes they’re committing along the way.
Rep. Doris Matsui has shared this data on how the BBB will affect household energy costs. Looks like Californians face a midrange increase of 10-12%. (The map seems to be a tad geographically challenged, but I’m grateful for the info.)
Trump views the economy as a zero-sum game — hence, his addition-by-subtraction scheme: Deport people; take away healthcare and benefits so the poor and sick and old die. Then there’s a bigger share of the pie left for Trump and his rich cronies. The strategy is as sick as it is narcissistic.

Hardworking families across the nation are already facing high energy costs – and the Big Ugly Bill is going to make it way, way worse. [1/2]
According to this graphic shared by Senator Warren, 2.4 million Californians are projected to lose their healthcare if the BBB passes. I have seen no info from Schiff or Padilla.
The sun was inches away when the Rivercats found a way to win. I had kinda forgotten “win” but I’ll take it where I can get it.
It’s supposed to hit 97 degrees this afternoon but we have shady seats for the Sacramento Rivercats. Play ball!
I’m worried about you, Holler. It feels like Social Media ICE kidnapped you and we don’t know where you’ve gone or why.
The last night of our Memphis-to-Sacramento road trip ended at The Stray Dog pub in Elko, NV. All three of us — including Pebbles — felt right at home. #travel
Day 6 of our Memphis-to-Sacramento road trip took us through a diverse landscape from Evanston, WY, to Elko, NV. Here are some of my favorite scenes. #Travel
Since we’re in Laramie during #Pride month, we visited the Matthew Shepard Memorial bench at the University of Wyoming. I left a “You Are Loved” rainbow bracelet.
I made my first visit to Iowa and we braved 100-degree heat through Nebraska on Fay 3 of our Sacramento-to-Memphis road trip. Anybody ever been to Stoner Drug in Hamburg, Iowa? I got the T-shirt to prove it. #Travel
On day 2 of our Memphis-to-Sacramento road trip, we visited Fort Scott (KS) National Historic Site — a frontier and Civil War fort — on the Juneteenth holiday. Buildings were closed but the grounds were open. #Travel
