Op-ed in which I briefly explain why we shouldn’t worry about the migration from X to Bluesky even if we think of echo chambers as epistemically and democratically bad. @irpp.org @policyoptions.bsky.social
Overcoming online echo chambers requires institutional and individual commitment
Politics have always made it hard to accept facts and opinions that challenge our preexisting beliefs. Artificial intelligence algorithms make it even worse.

Trump is disappearing people to a Salvadoran prison for terrorists. And he says he wants to send “homegrown” Americans there next.

Some solace:“Mr Trump still delights many hard-right European leaders. But for Ms Meloni and Ms Le Pen, the American president could become a serious headache. Europeans don’t like him: a tiny 6% of French and 8% of Italians told a poll in March that Mr Trump is “a friend of Europe”.(Same in Canada)

Delighted that this paper co-authored with A. Morin-Martel is out in Digital Society. Building in pre-AI work in applied ethics, political & legal philosophy, we argue in favor of a two-pronged institutionalist approach to the regulation of AI technologies.
