They didn't really even "have the technology" to make some of these games, like Mario Kart 64 where the characters are textures and not 3D models. It doesn't look like they had any limitations like that in making Mario Kart World. So in order to make a game now, you must choose your own limitations

Convos from Thingus: the graphics in Super Mario RPG were impressive at the time, but seem quaint now. The remake, however, is neither. It is perfectly cromulent, it doesn't embarrass itself, but by not embarrassing itself it also doesn't do anything to impress, either.

Me having my 3rd life-changing epiphany of the day on my 88th year of "Wanting to be a voice actor" to my family and being completely insufferable to them doing voices and awful impressions in cramped cars for years and everyone's too afraid to tell me that I'm gay. Everyone except my wife
