The place in Flamborough does his hand made Ganseys. Patterns named after the little village ports up along the coast Flamborough, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay, Filey Steps etc. Very tightly knitted to repeat water, reversible and plain cuffs to make repairs easy

Bloody awful photo choice on BBC News article reporting on the death of Sir Terry Farrell. His design of the Deep in Hull is all about the location and setting. It’s a fantastic building. 1st pic off google image search is much better example.

The Deep in Hull - close cropped so you can’t see the location of the building, looks flat dull grey.

The Deep in Hull show in its location between the Humber and the River Hull. Like a mad pyramid spaceship that’s looks like a space shark. Much more representative of what it is like to experience the building in real life.

The toolmaking for this process alone required the skills of a carpenter with the steady hand and eye of a jeweler. David Evans was the largest British block printer on a commercial level and their block archive was incredible. But sadly, the process came to an end in the 1980s.

They turned Spitalfields into a major silk hub and created jobs in nearby towns. In Kent and Dorset, people raised silkworms and mulberry plants. Along the River Test in Hampshire, the Whitchurch Silk Mill transformed cocoons into bundles of silk thread and eventually cloth.
