My brother has a fox which he regularly feeds. Like you he was leaving food out for stray cats. She disappeared for a while then turned up with her cubs.

"I am a camera with its shutters open, quite passive, recording, not thinking....Some day, all this will have to be developed, carefully printed, fixed."
Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood.
First published in 1939, reading this in our current political climate is frightening.

On my bus home this evening I saw three people walking through Rathmines while reading a book. It's the small things in life that matter. Keep on reading.

"Reading Infinite Lives, Infinite Deaths feels like nonfiction, as the narratives feel too real. The stories are set in a nightmarish version of Manila that feels much like ours."

Infinite Lives, Infinite Deaths by Douglas Candano is a collection of horror/dark fantasy short stories set in The Philippines.

I keep saying it Filipino literature is the great hidden gem. Candano sets these stories against the backdrop of the Chinoy (Chinese-Filipino) experience.

This is incredible to hear. Shame on Hodges Figgis for this stance. I'm very disappointed in their attitude.

🧵 Carlo Crivelli (c1430-1495) was a fascinating Renaissance artist who painted strange visions that are both bizarre & entrancing. He was a bridge between the medieval Gothic & the modern world of the Renaissance. Let’s take a look at this strange artist!

I've just heard some terrific news. My old friend Bren Farrell has had a book published. The book is entitled "Bartholomew Hoppinlilypond." It can be purchased in Waterstones in England and will soon be available in bookshops in Ireland and hopefully worldwide. Proud of you Bren!
