Yep.
I've been waiting for you to get to Pinocchio strictly for this moment.
Just finished listening. The line in the video, "Bad faith critics' goal is to supplant the original media with their own narrative" made me think of this tired criticism.
Wait, you mean Lord Dragaunus?

Just finished a table read for @feministfairytales.bsky.social.
So much fun! It was a great read with some really talented VAs.
I think what I love about voice over is, "You were so creepy" was the greatest complement I could receive.
As 40yr Star Wars fan, I feel this.
My secret for not getting drawn into the easy path of being a toxic hater is to focus on what you love about a franchise. Even if there's an entry you didn't care for. Just find one thing where you can say, "That part was pretty good."
“The fandom ruined this for me”
I dont let people ruin things for me I love. I got 0 patience for it so the second I get an inkling of 💩 behavior (elitism, toxicity etc) INSTANT Cutoff, Mute, Block.
Ya Bum Ass aint ruinin somethin I love.
shame when ya havin a good talk & that BS sneaks in,
cuz then
And coming from a liar, you can take that to the bank.
Mike Johnson: "Democrats are in an all out assault on the truth"
Caught an early screening of Shelby Oaks this week. Great horror movie to see this October. Not only is it tense and scary, but it's one of those films that rewards you for watching the backgrounds, looking past the characters.
Can't recommend it enough.
One more week until my first virtual table read.
So exciting!
The ending was a cold slap of reality.
The main story ends with almost everyone hating each other. Instead of a text epilogue, we get a filmed one. We learn that 5 years later, nothing changed and there's no closure.
True to life, I suppose, but it feels like the message is nothing matters.
The only stance the film takes is Sexual Assault Is Wrong.
Not exactly a bold stance, but it at least reinforces that power dynamics matter, regardless of who initiated.
It's based on real events, and the film feels real. Everyone is awful in their own way, and it's nice to see a movie present a full cast of warts&all characters. We see conflicting views and traits of Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z, but no stance on which views are valid. Some scenes just..end.
We saw #AfterTheHunt. Quite the interesting film. Overall, the film had incredible acting, camera work, and music; but it falls flat on its face in messaging. The film wants its cake and to eat it to: validly critiquing multiple generations but never taking a stance on whose point is more valid.
Not to mention, Grijalva called his bluff and said she's ready.

A Brief History of Men are Becoming Less Manly

🧵
Quick, get word out to Portillo's!
It looks like the Swerski's Superfans joined the army.
As a millennial, I've never seen:
Clueless
Schindler's List
Good Will Hunting
And I only saw The Usual Suspects less than a year ago.

Music-wise, I didn't start listening to 90s music until the 2010s.
Oh, the sweet sound of silence.
Alright, trying something I've never done before:
Replacing the drum rollers on my dryer.
