There's been a notable escalation of rhetoric. Speaker Johnson, Trump's echo chamber, now refers to Dems as "Marxists" and "pro-Hamas" and to protests like No Kings as "hate rallies." Gestapo-like action against all dissent seems inevitable.

In the case over Trump's National Guard deployment in and to Illinois, the Seventh Circuit grants a similar partial administrative stay while it considers DOJ's stay pending appeal:

The court stays the TRO's coverage of the federalization but denies the stay as to the TRO blocking deployment.

Trade wars, quite simply, are bad for everyone - there are no winners. Trump's moronic addiction to tariffs has the potential to crash the US economy and send us spiraling into another Great Depression. American corporations should be fighting him on this, but seem acquiescent.
