Enjoy (??) this bonkers dream I had...

Once again, it's time for...
DERANGED DREAM THEATER!

So, last night I had a crazy dream. I was at some sort of giant party at a very expensive, very large, very dream-created home. There were celebrities, people from all over, and some guests seemed to be actors pretending to be at the party. I even met a "party actor" who claimed to be from my hometown... though they were not. Various delicious and delightful food was served. Heck, I was munching on a steak the whole time.

But while this dream was odd, the real craziness started when I realized that the entire night of the party a masked killer was stalking the guests. However, the property was so big and the party so populated, a death would go unnoticed. In good slasher movie fashion, the bodies disappeared and no one even noticed.

It turned out, I was the only person who realized what was happening. I was running around, trying to convince people that this was happening... but no one believed me. I ended up just fleeing every time I saw the killer show up. I'd hide, do my best to warn others, and hope to survive.

Well, imagine my surprise when the masked killer was revealed to be actor (and absolute bombshell) Charlize Theron! She was superhumanly strong and almost impervious to damage. When Charlize went into a final bloody spree, I had no choice but to run and hide.

I found myself at the small airstrip (I told you it was a huge home!) and witnessed a group of influencer-types preparing to fly away on their private plane. Before I could beg to join their escape, Charlize the killer arrived. She asked to fly with them, and they were more than happy to have a major star on board.

In the end of the dream, I was on the ground watching slasher killer Charlize Theron get in a plane and fly away with a group of young celebrity influencer types who had no idea they were going into the sky with a monster.

Thus ends DERANGED DREAM THEATER.

This is a long one, so I've broken it down.

tl; dr I am STRUGGLING–disability & poverty, trying to support my DV survivor friend, and limited help from the dystopia… any help from you wonderful folks will earn my love and gratitude.

I'm disabled. This is year 8 of my body totally hating me. Over time, my chronic conditions have gotten more severe. At this time, I'm severely mobility limited–I can't stand for more than a few minutes, nor can I walk for more than a few minutes. I have chronic pain, idiopathic chronic afib, and I still suffer flares of Long Covid that aggravate my conditions.

I cannot work. I've tried for years to find something, anything I can do. However, I'm unable to do physical work or even exist in any in-person job, and online/work from home is either very skill specific or simply a scam. Either way, I've had no luck finding work I can do.

I'm in poverty. While I am extremely fortunate to receive Social Security Disability, the amount I get each month barely covers my portion of expenses (rent, utilities, food, etc) and leaves nothing for anything needed-but-not-covered by SSDI (eg mobility aids, household safety aids, home modifications, ramps, or a whole host of needed items that would make my life slightly more liveable).

I have no transportation. I don't have a car. I did, but after a winter weather accident, I no longer do. So getting anywhere for any reason is a struggle. And doctors are very unforgiving about missed or rescheduled appointments. Yes, even for very medically frail patients.

In fact, the world is hateful to you if you're chronically ill and have no vehicle. It's an extra cruelty in a world of cruelties. And even if my town had reliable public transportation, my limited mobility blocks that option.

Being basically homebound due to health and lack of a vehicle is often demoralizing and always a struggle.

I'm helping a friend. My friend and roommate is still doing her best to recover from an extreme DV situation. The details are simply horrible, and recovery is slow and ongoing. She lost most of her clothes and personal items, and finding work her recovery can sustain has been very challenging. Until she is healed enough, she will continue to need my help (which I'm happy to give… I'm just limited by circumstance).

To sum up… The sheer volume of need is impossible. But I'm here, hat in hand, hoping there are enough folks out there with the ability and good will to help me reach some of my goals .
