I had the huge pleasure to speak with the cast of "Shoresy" recently to talk about hockey, their own histories in hockey, getting back into arenas with the Shoresy Classic and what the beauty of being beauties on one of the best shows on TV is like

How "Shoresy" Has Reset the Tone with an Inside Look at Hockey Culture
Hockey in pop culture is kind of a rare thing.

There were a few from the die hards at the end

I'm only sharing facts!

unsure if it's the same oblique but yeah
joeyerdon.bsky.social
that's in the area of the oblique... which he injured last season that kept him out of action for Buffalo after the trade
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Definitely similar although that one was a bit more violent in movement and result. That Ruff said tonight's was upper only helps clarify a little bit of it (and that's not good)
joeyerdon.bsky.social
For what it's worth on Norris, he missed the final 4:38 of the game
joeyerdon.bsky.social
I said before about the injuries that we weren't at the "our pets heads are fallin' off!" stage but now we are and it's got more of a "the gods must be crazy" kind of twist to it
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Benson’s hospitalization came as a very big surprise of course. Ruff characterized it as it being the way things have gone with these things.

Power has been sick a couple of days so him missing tonight wasn’t a big surprise.
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Lindy Ruff said Zach Benson had to be hospitalized because of the cut on his face. He expects him to be discharged in the morning.

Josh Norris did not finish tonight’s game because of an upper-body injury. Ruff said it’s not good when a guy doesn’t come back so more breath holding.

The hardiest of haters and Rangers fans hanging out to see the finish - 4-0 Rangers take it. Igor Shesterkin with 36 saves in the shutout
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Adam Fox with the long-distance gardien-free tally
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Yeah, it changed direction all right - JT Miller with the tip.

Now it's 4-0 after an empty-net goal from deep
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Braden Schneider scores on a blue line shot that Lyon either didn't see or changed direction suddenly to make it 3-0
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Carson Soucy steps up from the blue line and snaps one by Lyon short side to make it 2-0 with 5:14 to go in the third and there's a fair number of fans hitting the ol' dusty trail
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Sabres kill off another one. Special teams early in the season are always really good or really bad so there's that flavor
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Justin Danforth thought he was getting away with a hook to get to the puck in the offensive zone. He was not. Now the Rangers go on the power play with ~10:30 to go
joeyerdon.bsky.social
That power play was more of a throwback to last year.
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Lindy Ruff with the industrial kitchen line blender working in the third period looking for a goal in the third.

The power play gets another chance now after Will Cuylle trips up Josh Doan in front of the world at center ice with 13:06 to go in the third

new game: buffalo sabre or dutch explorer
joeyerdon.bsky.social
revive the goddam fullback dive
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Sabres kill off the penalty and their PK has done well to limit everything
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Fittingly, as I finished writing that, Tage Thompson high-sticked Will Cuylle on the opening draw.
joeyerdon.bsky.social
This game through two periods developed the feel of a "deserves got nothing to do with it" possibility with how the Sabres controlled play, had the better chances and have yet to score against Igor Shesterkin. Twenty minutes to change the story.
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Nothing doing on the power play and then the period ended. Still 1-0 Rangers after two. Gary Bettman is gonna hear our questions now
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Rangers standing up for their goalie makes sense, but Shesterkin had it bouncing all around him. Sabres try to pounce on a loose puck and Jason Zucker gets his helmet ripped off by Borgen that sparks another aggressive group meeting after the whistle.

This time Borgen the only guy to get a penalty
