5 endangered red wolves arrive in New Jersey to boost survival efforts
Five critically endangered red wolves have just landed in New Jersey as part of a rare “wolf swap” program aimed at saving the species. With only 16 left in the wild, the wolves traveled from North Carolina to the Wolf Conservation Center, where experts hope they’ll breed and help restore a healthy ecosystem.

With fall right around the corner, dispersal season is near. 🍂 Young coyotes set out to find mates and territory. Our Westchester trail cams logged 46 sightings last Sept compared to fewer than 10 in other months.

Reposting an interesting paper. We also ran into this using isotopes to assess coyote diets. We found a canopy effect on d13C values indicating enrichment was influenced more by land cover features and less by use of human foods. Agricultural cover influenced d15N values.
