One thing I’ve really started to value in my politicians is vitality. It’s not necessarily always a question of age - but whether you have the energy and ability to actively engage in the work of being a representative.

One thing I’ve failed to understand, in their mind, why would democrats cheat only just enough to make it close and not enough to win?

These #NYTMCollection photographs show the Myrtle Avenue Elevated line just weeks before it closed for good. The El had been running since 1888. To the dismay of many passengers with fond memories, “Old Myrt” closed on October 4, 1969 and was demolished the following year.
