It was only in the 1960s Lawrence Toynbee began to get noted as an exhibitor with a run of shows at the Leicester Galleries in London. He was a fine painter and educator. This work shows 'Ice Skating, Oxford,' from around 1962.

@mickeyundertone.bsky.social Lovely version of Come back my love by Darts in my youth. Was it their debut single? Great show in Oxford New Theatre in 1978! Saw an up and coming Derry band there the year after, as it happens....

What does "Fink is a CofI" mean?
April 1, 2025 at 7:32 PM
We Brits do that cos we're super polite - a Canadian's fury at the opposite mistake isn't worth it, whereas for a yank the mistake is a compliment :)

"No doctor knows how to help me and for most of the time, none have even tried. Some of them even didn't believe me and said I was just lazy. I am abandoned and I've given up, honestly. I'm not the only one. I don't understand why no one will help us."

i just saw that your fact checking of Trump is on TheGuardian.com UK Homepage, but is nowhere to be found on their US edition. Is that not a little supine?
February 19, 2025 at 7:52 PM
@theguardian.com isn't it a bit supine, to have the Trump fact checking piece on theguardian/uk homepage but not publish it in the USA - at least, not prominently?

On the left, my image. On the right, the Al image that was clearly trained on, and designed to plagiarize, my image.

All Al generated imagery is inherently theft. It's unethical, environmentally disastrous, and does irreparable harm to both artists and society.

I've no idea but I considered trying to get some for my long COVID. Your story sounds convincing.
December 14, 2024 at 5:58 PM
I came here to say that as well - but the linked report definitely says different. "the primary benefit of the vaccine on long COVID stems from its capacity to prevent infections," the authors concluded." This has thoroughly confused me!

@joplatt.bsky.social a modest suggestion:
Here's an idea: get GP Practices to nominate one Dr to take an interest in the condition. In my GP's there's several with interests in gyn/obs, geriatrics, dermatology, hypertension, the list is long. Not one takes an interest in our condition :(
