Just watched the Japanese psychological horror movie Exit 8, which is based on the game of the same name. An instant classic and surely the best video game adaptation ever. As a movie it is natural to interpret it as an abstract reflection on death and penance.

It seems that I was prejudiced. It was a great party and it was fun to be on a boat. Never underestimate the capacity for Berlin to have fun. The crowd was like IT-people, teachers and master students (or so I imagine). The Spree came into view with the dawn with full row of windows behind the DJ.

Clearheaded opinion piece about NATO without US from James Stavridis, a retired US Navy admiral. It is certainly possible, and in principle even advantageous, for Europe to go alone. It will take about 5 years to get to current levels of security.

Started to think about this track from Photosynthez (Ekaterina Lukovnikova) - from when I first discovered Russian music. She is a hairdresser from Moscow who made a few minimal but smart and cute tracks. Influenced by Grimes, perhaps. Wonder what she is up to these days.

Interesting facts. The vocals performed by Bobby Farrell actually belonged to the producer and song writer Frank Farian. He was lip syncing. Bobby Farrell died on the exact same day as Rasputin in St. Petersburg.

Been talking all day with Copilot about US debt development. We discovered a striking linear relationship between distribution of maturities for bonds (reflecting market risk evaluation) and US debt over the last 15 years. According to our projections US will reach fiscal exhaustion around 2033.

Another obvious insight about Trump. There are usually no ideological reasons for all the stuff he does. He is a pathological narcissist who lives off the attention offered by the scandal-driven dramaturgy of a reality show. There is going to be no end to his outrageous stunts in world politics.
