I’m Jon, 1987-aged, born and raised in Georgia, left for 15 yrs, came back, married a rabbi, got some kids, cats and chickens, and in the past couple years, I have become about as obsessed with motor racing as it is possible to be.

On here to post about racing and befriend people who do so as well.
Two Indy cars racing around a giant spider at Barber Motorsports Park Two children with red hair in opposite-colored rec soccer uniforms, the smaller one with their face censored by a loving skull emoji, the larger one’s face censored by a slack-jawed unicorn emoji with star eyes. They’re striking power poses in front of a Home Depot #20 Chevy Monte Carlo NASCAR Cup car from the Tony Stewart era, but it is being driven by someone else in a historics race. Me and my bros, two of whom I’ve known since we were four years old, smiling arm and arm in sunglasses at a NASCAR race A woman and a man dressed like casual adventurers in brimmed hats staring through aqueous plants

Man, Pfaff Motorsports really figured out the trick to selling clothes, which is to make a race car that looks like clothes

Or if constructors have built entire businesses around making a particular kind of engine and have a vested interest in proving that it’s good

I am begging literally any race team to publish its event schedules as a calendar file instead of an 8 1/2 x 11 PDF

One of the host guys here talks about how the genius of Group C was that you had a certain amount of fuel to make a certain amount of distance, and whatever engine you wanted to use to accomplish that goal was allowed. To me, the new concept of virtual energy that is fuel agnostic expands on this.

The part that I understand, but I’m not convinced by, is the feeling that current racing categories are in the “endgame.” I agree that there are a lot of symptoms of convergence and looping thoughts about how race cars should work, but I also see new mechanisms that create amazing possibilities.

The only thing I don’t love is that tire is a much less sustainable resource than wings

One of the most important and fundamental points in it is that contemporary race fans are bored by a lack of wheel to wheel racing because the cars are so fine-tuned that there is no human element to watching them drive alone

Looks like parity to me

Day 3 of this race meeting is the first time I have a relevant hat that actually fits on my head

You’ve got all kinds of options there, and pushing one seems like a great idea

The WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will be decided this Saturday with the Motul Petit Le Mans. 385 (350 for the win, 35 for pole) points are left on the table. These are the standings, assuming the championship leaders take the green flag.
