Silent Hill 2 is, I realized yesterday, my favorite kind of mystery video game. Like, strictly speaking, it is "find all the clues to continue", but it's not about procedure in the "police-like detective" sense. The crime is not something our protagonist can ~solve~ in that sense.
My fiancée and I are gonna be movin' in together next year, so the ol' geek corner's gonna have a completely new layout soon (& the time's def right cuz it's run outa space lol).
Man, that's so dope! In my first year as an animation student, the school set up a screening of Paprika. He did a Q&A afterward and signed some posters for us. A day I'll never forget 💯
Itagaki 😞 Damn, man. Final messages like this from creators always gets me. I'll always remember Satoshi Kon's last words too. RIP to another legend.
Tomonobu Itagaki-san has passed away.
A message to his fans:

"Last Words
The light of my life is finally fading.
The fact that this message has been posted means that the time has finally come. I am no longer in this world.
(I am entrusting this final post to someone important to me)..."
List of the games I got for the year so far and the list of remaing ones I plan to grab. On the home stretch! (Dates in purple are titles I decided to get later on. Discs denote physical purchases.)
These two babies finally landed 🙌🏽
If I fall asleep again after my early morning workout, I have the WEIRDEST dreams. Like today I had one where a weird green bug was poking me on my bed, and when I tried to smack it away, it dodged and turned itself inside out; becoming an axolotl with googly eyes lol.
Late to the Struzan and D'Angelo news. Damn. One great after another. 😞 RIP.
Here's hoping our theaters get it here in Barbados, otherwise Shudder'll be my best bet. Man, what's funny is, as I get older, shit that usually wouldn't get me, suddenly gets tf outa me lmao, so it don't gotta be too gut wrenching nowadays
Iono if my heart's ready for this one lol. But I do love me a lil dream-like, nonsensical horror film, so you mentioning that makes me think it might be right up my alley, otherwise.
Nameless (2016). A massive asteroid is headed to Earth, but turns out it's actually a possessed, ancient, alien artifact; so the government hires a John Constantine-like magician to protect the astronauts sent to nuke it. It's Hellblazer x Armageddon x Crossed. Nothing goes well.

Still think Antifa isn't violent? Here's bodycam footage of Antifa founder B.J. Blazkowicz shooting a heroic member of ICE who was just trying to protect this great nation. Thank God we have Blazkowicz's girlfriend in custody.

BREAKING: Israeli tanks fired directly at civilians on Al-Rashid Street while the latter were trying to return to northern Gaza, shortly after the ceasefire agreement had supposedly taken effect.

Bro, this nigga Diddy always start talking on EVERY FUCKING SONG when you least expect it. Like why are you even on here?!
The Shadow Planet (2017). It's basically Forbidden Planet/Star Trek meets The Thing. Definitely gave me that same paranoid feeling of not knowing who to trust among the crew of this starship. Some nice, haunting ancient alien imagery in this one, too.
Been spending some of my nights reading cosmic horror comics for the season (and to help my brain decompress from the avalanche of work I've been doing).

I'ma recommend the ones I like in a thread here. Feel free to send some recs my way as well, if ya know any particularly haunting ones.
I especially identify with the "eating cheese" part of your team's plan to get across the finish line.
This week, our team made a tough decision: we decided to delay Mina the Hollower. The entire crew has been working tirelessly day and night to finish development for release on Oct 31st, but we’re just not quite there yet.

Gotta get Remina in dere. Primo cosmic horror storytelling 👌🏽

Jane Goodall leaving us with some strong Maarva Andor energy. 🫡
Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.
Both Fox films, interestingly. Both in a series with 2 successful hits, before the execs micromanaged the 3rd films into oblivion. 14 years apart and they hadn't learned their lesson. But I guess that's how it is with these hubris-infused bean counters. They never learn shit.
