Assume you mean Anderson? That’s the only one I can think we have sold. If they manage PSR better we shouldn’t have to do it again (think Stavely was at fault there). But unless we consistently win stuff & in CL our best homegrown players will want to leave even if they were born in shadow of SJP
Our purchases in summer are mixed, Thiaw and Woltemade look good. Ramsey has demonstrated as feared he is in injury prone. Wissa, who knows. Elanga shit. But Howe spend quarter a billion in summer if we’re bottom half you’d wonder whether PIF would start to look elsewhere surely?
Happy Clapper say it’s all fine ‘we always start poorly’, ‘in Howe we trust’, ‘We move on’ but eventually we won’t have a purple patch like we did around Xmas last year and we/ him will get found out. I think we will finish 8th-14th, there were signs post cup final last season.
Even when it means we’re less number of points and sorting in bottom half? He knows we’re not scoring goals so when there is a chance to get a point and there is only 10 minutes left he should manage the team accordingly. What about when we’re winning, like against Arsenal? And we blew it? Totally.
How many wins to get to 40 points…….? Just asking for a friend 🤣
This big of a drop off? Really? One player? We’ll be in the championship never mind champions league the time it’s taking to get a tune off this team this season. You have ‘Howe rose tinted glasses’ on. We’re going around in circles here really. Have to agree to disagree on this.
Okay it’s never Howe fault? The messiah.
I’m not sure as I’m not a football manager, but I wonder how many points have we lost in the last 10 minutes of the game this season? Reckon it’ll be a lot.
We’ll be in a relegation battle and not European spots. I know I am repeating myself but other teams don’t seem to have the write off a whole season because one player leaves.
I think you’re looking for excuses and landing all those excuses against Isak leaving and I think you’re clutching at straws, there is far more issues than players needing to adapt to a new striker and how long do you think it’ll take them to adapt? Till Christmas? When? Cos if we’re not careful
It certainly ain’t ‘intensity is our identity’ any more is it? Think it’s more ‘couldn’t score in a brothel’ or ‘we can’t protect points end of a game’
I have said numerous times Isak replacement isn’t the issue. NW has played well considering but where are the rest of the team? You say players adapting, we’re 2 months into the season! We can’t expect NW to be the only scorer in our team. Where Ian Gordon? As I say he only turns up for England.
Agree you couldn’t replace those so quick but we spent mega bucks close season and the Isak replacement isn’t the issue so I am increasingly questioning Howes ability to quickly amend his coaching when things change quickly.
I repeat. Other teams, elite teams, and managers don’t waste a quarter of the season to adapt. There is the talk of this kick up the arse the players after the Brentford game last season- he needs to do it again and quick. We look mid table at best, or maybe even worse. Howe strategy also is ?
Joelinton not been great IMO. Elanga waste of £55m and Gordon only seems to turn up for England
Other good teams don’t have their whole attacking aspect of their game fall apart when 1 player leaves. It’s up to the manager to get the players feeding the new striker properly. You have to question Howe. We can’t wait much longer or we’ll be more likely fighting relegation than European spots.
But other teams are making it simple- a certain team down the A19 are doing it when most of them hadn’t played together at all till couple of weeks before season started. BNW isn’t the issue. It’s the wingers, and midfield. And increasingly feel it’s Howe too.
But our replacement of Isak is doing canny. The rest of the team (away from defence tbf) are gash. Nee one else other than BNW is offering anything. Howe game management is shit too- so many points lost because he can’t protect the points at end of games.
This dropping of points at the end of games is on Howe- so many times this season we have been either winning (Arsenal) or looking to at least get a point (Liverpool and today and other games) and we blow it because Howe is shit at managing games like elite managers in PL do. Frustrating. #NUFC
This is on Howe. He is shit at game management. So many games we can’t manage the end of games to protect points and blow it.
We can’t have the whole striking part of the team fall apart because one player leaves. They are more likely gonna be fighting relegation than a European spot if we’re not careful.
I question Howe and game management. When we got to 1-1 there should have been some management to protect that point. We have seen in regularly this season too against Arsenal, Liverpool and others- we are near the end and could win or draw and throw it away by poor management of the game.
But one season we will get found out. We always seem shit at the start. If we ever want to progress can’t keep starting so shit. Being gash after international breaks. Whole team falls apart cos one player leaves. Frustrating.
To be fair I honestly think we will lose down there in December regardless of whether we find our form. I’m have anxiety the Mackems finish above us in the league this season seeing how gash we are in the PL this season
