I'm still, very slowly, making my #indiegame Tiny Tires. 3 months ago I released my first devlog, a tiny devlog, detailing some of the stuff I've been working on. Check it out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlIN...

Our game will contain various sectors that need cleaning! Here is some early concept art for the main city area!
How about a peek at some early concept work for Trash City Turbo?

Heres some early viz dev work done for one of our stages in the game! This image is about exploring style, shapes and scale as well as layout ideas!

Check out the first of our open dev stuff! We will be showing as much as we can as we start to build out our first level after completing our proof of concept prototype. More cool stuff in the works to, including a glimpse of that prototype!
The making of the down and dirty streets of Trash City! To design one of our city arenas, we had to first work out the roads.

We are experimenting with a tile set that allows us to quickly assemble layouts. Once we feel we have a good foundation, we can then build out from there.

levels 1,2, and 3 of the regular turret

I'm working on the 4th

each tower will have a 4th 'ultimate' level, of which you can only support a limited amount.

Speaking as someone who's worked with Capcom, stays in touch with its people, and has, shall we say, professional room to maneuver, I'll just say that contrary to what the technical director in the IGN article asserts, I know for a *fact* many Capcom employees are VEHEMENTLY against this direction.

'The researchers called the outcomes “visual elevator music” – pleasant and polished, yet devoid of any real meaning.'

This is what we need to fight against.

AI-induced cultural stagnation is no longer speculation − it’s already happening
AI-mediated culture is already being filtered in ways that favor the familiar, the describable and the conventional.

I think this is the key - in an age of AI bilge, it's more important than ever to make things with human fingerprints all over them. I'd rather have bad art than auto-complete blandness.

There's an account I kove on Mastodon called LucasArts Places that just posts background art from LucasArts adventure games. Seeing the scenes without characters or UI really underscores the immense talent of the artists who worked on the games. A few examples:

so, again.. he says outlandish shit, threatens tariffs, military action, turns everything and everyone into a panic..

then turns around and just says "alright, just give me some minerals." and everyone's just "oh, that seems reasonable enough."

just plain mobster behaviour. this is fucking insane.

This is actually, and I do not exaggerate here, the GREATEST art advice ever. Be cringe as fuck, make your detractors hate the everliving crap outta your work. Because it's what you LOVE.
