We were working on a SNES 'Taz' game at Software Creations in about 1993/4 and all that remains of the game are these three Taz sprite frames. That may change if I uncover any other artwork. I believe these were drawn/animated by Andy Wilson ( RIP ). Andy is at the front in the photo.
Seeing as Sega don't even seem to be aware of this anniversary, it's left to Bloggo to mark the occasion with due pomp and reverence. An excellent job they did, too.
So the venerable Master Sarsons was Bloggo's first games console!
What was his impressions of this new tech from the east and more importantly what games dragged him away from his home micros?
Watch and see!

I have no idea what this represents AND I have an absolute aversion to vinegar or anything containing it, but I'm liking it anyway because it heralds the arrival of another Bloggo video.
A rather wonderful way to keep up on the frankly ridiculous (in the best possible meaning of the word) number of new Spectrum games all in one place. If only finding time to play them were as easy.
Travelling home on a Friday and want something more uplifting than Social media doom scrolling to read?

Then treat yourself to the COMPLETELY FREE Speccy mag, jam packed with reviews and features and whatnot.

There's even a phone friendly version.

For the benefit of my new #RetroGaming followers here's a look at my mental games room / museum. I started collecting old games in 1991 when I worked in a games shop where people were part exchanging 8bit machines for 16bit.

I've managed to find almost all the old stuff I got rid of! #ZXSpectrum
My memory of Inferno is very, very hazy, but I think that was my least favourite of the series up to this point. I haven't ventured too much beyond Hellseeker myself (I haven't even seen the supposedly rather good latest one), it just started getting too depressing for the wrong reasons.
I like that the opening quote is more or less a subtle request from the film makers for you to not think of the better Hellraiser movies you've seen previously whilst suffering through their attempt and by extension not compare them.

Then they needlessly bring one of the previous characters back.

Like how Moby Dick was actually titled
"Moby Dick" or "The Whale"
Frankenstein also had 2 titles, it was called
"Frankenstein" or "The Modern Prometheus"
So I've decided it would be funny to "mistakenly" start calling the monster by the OTHER title instead

"Look out! It's the Modern Prometheus!"

With perhaps the shortest non-bonus game segment in Bloggo history (not a guarantee), this has reminded me why the Game Boy transcended my disinterest in handheld formats and managed to entertain me in a way no other has managed since.

For the sake of your own sanity and general well-being, I hope you're going to stop before you reach the stage where random scripts were being retroactively turned into Hellraiser movies.
There was definitely a trade off between getting information in advance and the quality and depth of the information conveyed.

Of course, now the internet has taken over it's the British content that seems more of a novelty to find in comparison to the deluge of America-centric content.
The arcade release of Street Fighter Alpha was the most memorable of the titles I first learned about this way, and it seemed revelatory at the time.

Some of my PS1 memory cards still bear the stickers that came with PSM magazine to this very day.
I remember doing this. Looking back, the thing that strikes me now is that even with the huge range of UK titles available to stock, a good proportion of even the smallest newsagents were bolstering this further still with import games magazines. These often seemed be the only imports stocked.
When I was a teenager with my Mega Drive, it was kinda cool picking up copies of EGM and Game Pro from a local newsagents. Seeing American magazines covering games we might not get for months in the UK, if at all.

But the reviews in them? Poor. Single paragraph bits from multiple writers. /1
I remember one of the reasons behind my original purchase was that it looked more reminiscent of an Amiga game than other console games, and an actual Amiga was out of my price range at the time. Possibly why even now I'm a little more charitable towards it than makes logical sense.
I have a huge fondness for this game, despite the below criticisms being totally valid. Some of the hidden secrets seemed quite clever at the time, a decent risk versus reward approach to getting higher scores and a perfectly suited soundtrack.

I never reached the end either. Maybe one day.
Sharing a bit of a duffer for #SNESfriday - Out to Lunch.

Beautiful sprite work, funky music but the game gets super difficult and fast - considering there's 48 levels.. never did get to the end!

Also, any game that starts level 1 as a slippery ice stage - that's a crime against gaming!

I could never shake the feeling that the new cenobites in this one were entries from a "Design a Cenobite" competition that was somehow only open to under 14s. Not even the winning entries, either.
Buying this for 50p from a car boot sale certainly made a case for it being the the best value compilation I'd ever get (even allowing for the one game I had no interest in ever bothering to even load once). I inarguably needed more than nine games for my Spectrum, though.
I'm a big fan of Gremlin's "10 Great Games" compilation, however I find their claim that it provides "More entertainment for computer than you'll ever need" somewhat spurious!
Projects like these tend to slip under my radar so to speak, which is a shame as there's some very impressive work on display here.
It is constantly surprising when someone decides to convert an old arcade game to another format by themselves. Usually on their own as well! Lets take a look at some of these right here! In this video!

'forever' could mean many things thanks to the punctuation used. Until it becomes outdated/I get bored of how it looks/my washing machine breaks down/I need to indulge in my financial domination kink again by demanding cash from people are just a few options.

If you like it please consider sharing.

I'm going to do NES and SNES soon. Along with some tracker music which makes me think of Amiga

Even in the event he provides them with all the necessary paperwork and the monetary means to cover any imposed duties, WHY would anyone want to do this for him? There seems to be no reward for the inconvenience, therefore he must feel the opportunity to help him IS the reward.
It absolutely isn't a problem for me, at all.
