It’s also not clear if Adam Ahmed’s use of the term ‘militia’ is in reference to the Afghan Local Police (ALP), which were the actual US-backed militias during the VSP program.

Although I believe parts of this are true, this is a gross over-generalization.
My team was responsible for Kunduz from 2016-17.
I never once heard of US-backed militias operating in the area.
The real issue was ANA ‘ghost’ units and corruption.
