Individual-player pregame warm-ups are well underway here in Milwaukee. Here are Alex Sarr and Justin Champagnie doing their individual shooting work.
This is the lineup I expect the Wizards to open with tonight: Bub Carrington, CJ McCollum, Kyshawn George, Khris Middleton and Alex Sarr.

That's my guess — but not a risky guess. The team typically doesn't announce its lineup until 30 minutes remain before the national anthem.
The Milwaukee Bucks will welcome back Khris Middleton tonight, with tonight being his first game back since his trade-deadline deal to Washington last winter. This is on many of the TV screens on the Fiserv Forum main concourse.
Here are looks inside and outside Fiserv Forum, where the Washington Wizards will open their season three hours from now against the Milwaukee Bucks.
(1/3) The Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame sits on an outdoor sidewalk several blocks from the Milwaukee Bucks' arena, with plaques of the state's greatest sports figures. I like to stop here on my walks to road shootarounds and road games. Some photos for you:
Rookie Will Riley is expected to be on the active list for tonight's Washington Wizards season opener in Milwaukee, coach Brian Keefe said after the team's shootaround today. Riley is listed as questionable on the team's injury report because of a sprained right ankle.
Here's a look at the end of the Wizards' shootaround right now in Milwaukee:
As the season begins and continues, would all of you who see my "tweets" here on BlueSky enjoy seeing photos of the road arenas and interesting locations? For instance, there's something sports-related on the walk to the arena in Milwaukee that I consider super-cool.
Nineteen hours from now, the Washington Wizards will open their 2025-26 regular season right here in Milwaukee. I don't care that it feels like 32 degrees. I'm grateful to be here and to share this ride with all of you. Thank you, everybody!
For the Washington Wizards, the 2025-26 season is likely to get ugly. Again. This is Year 3 of their rebuild, with no end date in sight. But the biggest mistake the franchise could make now is deviating from its plan too soon. My column, for @theathletic.com:

The Wizards can’t afford to deviate from their rebuilding plan, tough as it may be
Washington's basketball rebuild has no end in sight. Right now, that's the way it has to be.

Bilal Coulibaly, who has been sidelined throughout camp and the preseason as he recovers from thumb-ligament surgery, will not be available to play in Wednesday's season opener, coach Brian Keefe said. AJ Johnson (bruise) has been cleared to play, Keefe said.
Ted Leonsis attended the Wizards' practice today here in Washington. Leonsis typically attends a few practices each season.
The Athletic's NBA season preview continues today. Which team faces the most pressure to succeed? Which team will exceed expectations? Which team will fall short?

The Washington Wizards are planning to waive Dillon Jones in order to get to the 15-player limit for their standard roster, sources told @theathletic.com It turned out to be a tough competition for the final roster spot.
Bub Carrington (sore knee) was a full participant in the Wizards' practice today, Brian Keefe said. So that certainly seems to portend good things for Wednesday night's season-opener.
Bub Carrington (left knee soreness) was a light participant in practice today, Brian Keefe said. It's unclear whether Carrington will be able to play in Wednesday's regular-season opener. Keefe said the team is still evaluating that.
Bub Carrington, who injured his left knee Thursday in Washington's preseason finale, is on the court right now shooting free throws after the team's practice today. He's doesn’t have any brace or sleeve over his knee.
To all Orlando Magic fans:

On Monday night, from 9-10 p.m. Eastern, I'll participate in a Reddit AMA on the Magic subreddit (r/orlandomagic). More details soon, but please join and feel welcome to ask questions about the team and NBA coverage.
For all Washington Wizards fans:

On Monday night, from 8-9 p.m. Eastern, I'll be participating in a Reddit AMA on the Washington Wizards' subreddit (r/washingtonwizards). More details to come, but please feel encouraged to join and ask questions about the team.
You may have noticed that Cam Whitmore is watching tonight's game in street clothes on the Wizards' bench. He tweaked an ankle in the Knicks preseason game and is being held out just to make sure he doesn't aggravate it. He probably would play if this was a regular-season game.
Bub Carrington is out for the remainder of tonight's game because of left knee soreness, a team official said.
Bub Carrington was helped to the Wizards' locker room tonight in Detroit after the landed awkwardly attempting to deflect a long Pistons pass in transition.
Washington Wizards rookie Tre Johnson, the draft's sixth pick, has drawn comparisons to Ray Allen. How will his career play out? To answer that question, I spoke with NBA scouts to ask for their assessments and projections.
